Gigabit Studio uses cookies and browser storage to secure accounts, remember preferences and support optional analytics and LinkedIn posts.
Cookies help websites recognise your browser. Local storage keeps records between visits; session storage keeps them for the browser session. Our Privacy Policy explains personal data use, retention, international transfers and your rights.
How we use cookies and browser storage
Account and preference storage supports sign-in, security, email verification and saved choices. Website analytics and LinkedIn posts activate only after you enable them. The inventory below explains each record.
Optional website analytics
With your consent, PostHog uses first-party cookies and local storage to recognise your browser and measure visits, reading activity, clicks, shares and video interactions. We use its EU service in Frankfurt.
Vercel Speed Insights measures page performance with the same consent. It uses no cookies or browser storage.
Optional LinkedIn posts
When you enable LinkedIn posts, LinkedIn receives information about your browser and visit and may set cookies for recognition, analytics and advertising. See LinkedIn's Privacy Policy for details.
How to manage your choices
Accept or reject analytics in the cookie banner. Change or withdraw your analytics and LinkedIn choices at any time in Account under Cookies. You can still access the website if you decline optional features.
Turning analytics off stops collection and clears PostHog tracking storage. Turning LinkedIn off stops posts loading but does not delete existing LinkedIn cookies.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may affect sign-in and account security.
Cookie details
Storage names, purposes and lifetimes are listed below.
Account access and security
These first-party cookies support Gigabit Studio's authentication service, hosted by Convex:
- better-auth.session_token: keeps you signed in for up to 60 days, renewed during account use
- better-auth.session_data: caches session information for up to 30 minutes. Your account is deleted immediately, but another device may display cached profile information and open articles until the cache expires. Access to live account data and account changes stops immediately.
- better-auth.convex_jwt: stores an authentication token for up to 15 minutes; account data access also requires a valid session
- better-auth.two_factor: supports a two-factor sign-in challenge for up to ten minutes
- better-auth.better-auth-passkey: supports a passkey challenge for up to five minutes
Cookie names may include the __Secure- prefix or numbered suffixes.
Preferences and email verification
Gigabit Studio stores these browser preferences and verification details:
- gs-consent: a first-party cookie and local-storage record of your analytics choice; valid for 365 days, then cleared when expiry is detected
- gs-linkedin-consent: local storage enabling LinkedIn posts for 365 days; expired records remain until you switch LinkedIn off, clear storage or renew your choice
- __ph_opt_in_out_…: local storage recording your PostHog choice; remains until overwritten or cleared, even after consent expires
- better-auth.message: local storage coordinating sign-in and sign-out between tabs; remains until overwritten or cleared
- media-chrome-pref-muted: local storage remembering your video mute setting; remains until updated or cleared
- auth:verify-email-address: session storage holding your email address during verification; removed after verification or when the browser session ends
Optional website analytics
PostHog uses the following storage after you enable analytics:
- ph_…: first-party cookies and local storage identifying your browser and visits. Cookies last up to 365 days. Tracking stops when consent expires; storage is cleared when expiry is detected or you turn analytics off.
Optional LinkedIn posts
LinkedIn controls the third-party cookies set when you enable embedded posts. These cookies may include:
- bcookie: browser recognition for security and diagnostics; about one year
- bscookie: remembers sign-in and two-factor verification; about one year
- lidc: routing to a data centre; about one day
- li_gc: LinkedIn guest-consent preference; about six months
Cookies vary with browser and LinkedIn account settings. See LinkedIn's cookie table for its current names, purposes and lifetimes.
